Dual Wattage 3CCT LED Modules: Choose the Model and Driver

Compare the LS lens-module family, check installation space and prepare the right information for a matching external driver.

Choose the module and driver as one system

A dual wattage 3CCT LED module gives a buyer two power settings and three selectable white-light settings in one version. For a working installation, the module, external driver, dimmer and housing must be considered together. Begin with the required beam and available space, then confirm the electrical configuration for the selected power setting.

Compare LS001, LS002 and LS003

The HSKY lens-module versions below share a 50 mm diameter, CRI 98, 2700 / 3000 / 4000K selection and an external-driver connection. Their height and power settings differ.

3CCT moduleSelectable powerModule dimensionsBeam options
HS-4W/6W-LS0014W / 6WD50 × H32 mm15° / 36° / 60°
HS-6W/8W-LS0026W / 8WD50 × H53 mm15° / 36° / 60°
HS-9W/12W-LS0039W / 12WD50 × H65 mm15° / 36° / 60°

The body becomes longer as the power range increases. The same front diameter does not guarantee the same installation clearance. Allow space for the complete module, driver, connectors and wiring, and confirm how the module is retained in the chosen fitting.

Match power to the lighting requirement

Use the selectable power to configure an agreed version for the intended application. Ask for the light-output data at the setting you plan to use; watts alone do not show how much light reaches a display or work surface. For a private-label range, make the power setting and CCT instructions clear on the approved packaging and installation information.

Choose a beam before comparing brightness

The LS lens family offers 15°, 36° and 60° options. Compare the narrower option for a concentrated accent and the wider option where a broader distribution is required. Make the final choice using mounting height, aiming, spacing and photometric data. A beam-angle label alone does not establish glare performance or suitability for a particular room.

Using your own external driver

Customer-supplied drivers can be considered. Send the complete driver specification and intended module version to HSKY for matching. The module connects through a DC cable; the driver’s mains-input voltage is a separate specification.

  • Confirm required output current and the LED operating-voltage range for the chosen setting.
  • Check the driver’s supported load range and dimming method.
  • Confirm connector, polarity, channel arrangement and CCT / power selector functions.
  • Evaluate the sample with the proposed dimmer and actual connected load.

For a constant-current system, the LED operating voltage must be within the driver’s specified constant-current operating range. Matching only the wattage is insufficient. A driver with a compatible output is still subject to a complete system check, including the dimming controls.

3CCT or 3CCT + DTW?

Choose the standard 3CCT version for the listed fixed white-light settings. If the customer also needs warm dimming, review the separate LS001 3CCT + Dim to Warm version. Confirm the control arrangement for that version rather than assuming the same driver will provide every function.

Prepare a useful enquiry

Include the module model, function, preferred power setting, beam angle, finish, quantity and driver-supply preference. If you already have a fitting, send its retaining-ring details and available internal clearance. If you supply the driver, include its data sheet and proposed dimmer.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 50 mm module automatically interchangeable with a GU10 lamp?

Check the mechanical retention, depth and electrical connection. The LS modules shown here use an external driver and DC cable; they are not specified as complete GU10 mains lamps.

Can I order the module with my own driver?

Yes, a compatible customer-supplied driver can be considered. HSKY must confirm the output, connector and control configuration for the chosen module version.

Does CRI 98 tell me the R9 value?

Request the model-specific colour-rendering data if R9 is part of your specification. Do not infer a numeric R9 value from CRI alone.
